I haven't added the patricians yet because I don't know where I want to put them. well exceeding 10k), how far have you gone before giving up? How did you handle unemployed plebs? What did you find to be an acceptable unemployment rate? What are your experiences in general, particularly in regard to large populations? Over 40% of my plebeian population is employed by gatehouses and towers! In fact, I have 5,794 people employed by gatehouses and towers. I gave up on the city, however, because I have no idea what to do with my unemployed, and tower spamming only goes so far before it's impractical to spam more because of space and/or terrain. I'm certain I could easily fit twice that in the space remaining. I have a city scenario (not campaign), Amida, in which I have a population of 16,190 (purely pleb and equites so far). Of course, you'll eventually run out of room for food production making this a moot point anyway, but that's not been reached in a particular city just yet. ![]() With over 15,000, it's all but impossible to supply a sufficient number of jobs for your plebeian population. ![]() At some point, it's simply a matter of just spamming gatehouses and towers. ![]() As you approach end-game and the population requirements go above 7k, especially 10k, this becomes progressively apparent. ![]() As population goes up, so does the requirement for an excess of jobs, but this really isn't apparent with only a few thousand people.
